Examination of Design;
Calculation Tasks

Review of design and dimensionizing of all kind of mechanical systems and components, with details of design or parts of machines. As far as possible: together with consideration of existing characteristics of damage, also for development purposes. Advices on materials technology, manufacturing, and testing as well as on quality assurance. Identification of necessary legal approvals and regulatory responsibilities.

Calculation of stresses, strains, forces, deformations, buckling, temperatures, thermal stresses, vibration or resonance phenomena for dimensionizing/specification of maximal allowed loadings (analytically for simple cases, or numerical simulations by FEA with NASTRAN NX).
Complex FEA calculations are performed after primarily created "duty lists" for including of realistic details of loads as well as for optimization of FEA-models and the constraints. The aim is minimizing the computational and evaluational effort. Finally all results of numerical simulations are subject of an thorough engineering check to which extent they are meaningful.

Determination by materials mechanics of the structural durability (fatique strength) based on our own (see above) or delivered calculation results. This can be essential to the identification of damage mechanisms. In the case of predamaged critical components: safety assessment, including fracture mechanics.

Conducting of testing techniques of existing loadings (mechanical, thermodynamical) on-site or in lab scale; investigation of vibrations or resonance phenomena.
